Welcome to the South West section of our beautiful province. The Municipality
of Argyle has very strong ties to the sea with the fishery being our main industry. Our winter lobster season is one
of the most productive in North America.
Our Acadian heritage is alive and well with 70% of the population
speaking French. We are home to some very unique gems such as the oldest standing Courthouse & Gaol in Canada, monthly
kicthen parties that will have your toes tapping and your hands clapping, a living history Acadian village that will take
you back in time to the 1800's as well as the community of Wedgeport which was known as the Sport Fishing Tuna
Capital of the World.
We have festivals and events that go on all year that invite you to come celebrate
with us.
