Festival acadien international de Par-en-Bas

The Festival acadien international de Par-en-Bas has been suspended.

However Star Acadie and this Web site will be maintained.

Since March 2010 the festival has tried to get funding for an artistic director. Not being successful it was decided to suspend the festival. Funding had been obtained by the South West Shore Development Agency (SWSDA) for the festival the first two years, 2008 and 2009. With the SWSDA demise funding for an artistic director cessed.

The four Acadian festivals of West-Pubnico, Sainte-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Amirault's Hill and Wedgeport which formed the Festival Par-en-Bas will continue.

Concert by Grand Dérangement and Star Acadie, first annual singing competition in French for youth ages 10-14 and 15-19 of the Municipality of Argyle or the schools of Argyle. $1,800 in prizes. There will be no fireworks at the end of the concert because of the track and field being conctructed in back of the school.
